WELCOME

Hi, I’m Mabel Cruz, a news producer currently working at a CBS affiliate station in Tyler, Texas.

I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication. Throughout my time in school and now in my professional career, I’ve had the opportunity to cover stories across Texas, from the Arlington and Dallas area to East Texas.

My experience has allowed me to tell a variety of stories, from breaking news and community events to issues that impact people across the state. Each story has strengthened my passion for journalism and visual storytelling.

UTA RADIO NEWS

UTA Radio News is a one-hour live show I’ve been hosting twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday, for the past year on UTA Radio. I produce scripts and anchor the show, which features segments on local and national news, entertainment, and sports alongside a co-host.

Through this experience, I’ve developed strong skills in broadcast writing, on-air delivery, and console operation, while learning how to engage listeners on air.
